Anderson of Des Moines, who was allegedly beat to death by Ngor Makuey in July. Under minutemenAnderson’s name were the words: “Home invasion, beaten to death by an illegal alien on 7-9-2014.”

Makuey, 19, was living in the United States legally on July 2, when the fatal attack occurred and Makuey was arrested. His family fled war in Sudan before being grant refugee status and moving to Utah. Makuey is scheduled for trial in January. Police said he went into Anderson’s home for an unknown reason and brutally beat Anderson and his 94-year-old wife, who survived.

Ussery, the Minutemen organizer, cited raids in Postville and the poor working conditions immigrants face and said that “illegal immigration is akin to modern-day slavery.”

Ussery said he will continue to contact legislators and political officials until he sees laws change.
